A Different Way To Fall In Love Onlineby Chiara Atik on May 16, 2020
Ahhhhhh, I love couples! I love cute stories! This one is pretty cute, too: Raquel Salazar, who lived in Bangkok, and Ruben Salazar, who lived in Waco, Texas, had extremely similar email addresses. (RSalazar, R.Salazar, I'm guessing?) When Ruben got an email intended for Raquel, he very politely forwarded it to her:
'Hi, Rachel, it seems as if this message came to me instead of you. I'm in Waco, Texas, U.S.A. Have a great day. P.S. How's the weather there in Bangkok?'"
The two struck up a conversation from there, talked with increasing frequency, and eventually fell in love--all without ever having met each other.
Raquel eventually made a trip to the USA to visit Ruben, and on their sixth day together he got down on one knee and proposed. This was in 2020, and they've been married ever since.
Just in case you needed more proof that people really can fall in love through the internet....
