You join an online dating site to get dates, right? But what do you do when you get them?

Many people will find that they are getting more dates than they know what to do with, and it’s not always easy to manage. Especially when you find your already-packed schedule inundated with romantic trysts. You may end up postponing or canceling amorous meet-ups that you’d love to go on simply because of scheduling conflicts.

You should never let poor time management get in the way of finding love.

Here are a few tips to help you actually go on the dates you want to go on.

1. Don’t make more dates than you can handle

Pick the number of dates that feels right to you. Twice a week? Once a month? Just on the weekends? What feels sane to you? Stick to it.

2. Make plans you can keep

Be realistic about your schedule. If you’re busy, you’re busy. It’s okay. Make a date for two weeks in the future if you need to. You might even enjoy the bonus of seeming a little “hard to get.”

3. Follow up

Check in a couple of days before the date to confirm. It’s better to say something like “Looking forward to Friday,” than “We still on for Friday?” Sometimes, by even asking the question, you’re giving yourself a potential out. Assume that you’re going.

4. Give yourself time

I know it’s not always easy, but try to give yourself enough time to relax before the date. The more positive experience you allow yourself to have, the less anxious you’ll be next time.
